How we work

How We Work

No jargon and no surprises. Here's exactly what happens when you work with Paul, from the first conversation to the years that follow.

What is the process of working with Paul?

Working with Paul follows five steps: a no-cost first conversation, a discovery meeting to gather your details, a written retirement income plan, putting that plan into action, and regular reviews to keep it on track. You decide at each step whether to keep going.

Five steps

  1. 1

    Coffee & a Second Opinion

    About 30 minutes, no cost

We talk about where you are, what you're worried about, and what you want retirement to look like. If it doesn't seem like a fit, Paul will tell you, and point you in a better direction if he can.

  2. 2

    Discovery

    About an hour

Paul gathers the details: savings and account statements, Social Security estimates, pensions, insurance, spending, and goals. Bring what you have; he'll help with the rest.

  3. 3

    Your written plan

Paul builds your retirement income plan and walks you through it page by page: what you can spend, when to claim Social Security, which accounts to draw from, and how your spouse is protected. You take it home, read it, and ask questions.

  4. 4

    Put it into action

If you decide to move forward, Paul helps open and organize accounts, roll over old retirement plans, and set up your income. He coordinates with your CPA and estate attorney so everything works together.

  5. 5

    Stay on track

Paul reviews your plan with you at least once a year, and whenever life changes: a retirement date, a health event, the loss of a spouse, an inheritance, or a market shift.
