About
Meet Paul McNulty, CFP®
Forty years in financial services. One focus: helping people turn what they've saved into a retirement that works.

Who is Paul McNulty?
Paul McNulty is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional based in Woburn, Massachusetts. He has worked in financial services since 1986 and has been affiliated with LPL Financial since 2011. Paul specializes in retirement income planning and Social Security strategy for people approaching or in retirement.
Paul's story
Paul started in the financial services industry in 1986. Over the years that followed, he worked with some of the best-known names in the business, including Smith Barney, Lehman Brothers, and BankBoston, learning how large firms serve investors and where individuals often get lost in the process.
Paul founded Boston Metro Advisor in Woburn and has been affiliated with LPL Financial since 2011. The goal was simple: give people nearing retirement the kind of personal, one-on-one planning that's hard to find at a big firm. You work with Paul directly, from your first conversation onward.
Today, most of Paul's new clients come to him the same way: a referral from someone he already helps.
Paul's approach
“My mission is to provide effective strategies for the financial challenges confronting individuals and families as they approach and move through retirement.”
- Plan first, then invest — Investments should serve your income needs, not the other way around.
- Plain English — If a recommendation can't be explained simply, it isn't the right one.
- Written down — You get a plan you can read, question, and keep.
- Revisited — Life changes, and so does your plan. Paul reviews it with you at least once a year.
- Coordinated — Paul works alongside your CPA and estate attorney so nothing falls through the cracks.
